Xsplash themes, here we come!

Epidermis 0.4 has been released, with a brand new feature: Xsplash themes. Epidermis is the first GUI program to offer this capability, as far as we know. Changing the look of your boot-up screen is now as simple as changing your wallpaper.
Pigment creators also have a new feature to play with: automatic preview generation. Now you don't need to the hard work of taking screenshots yourself any more, Epidermis Creator does it for you.

Changelog:

  • Added support for Xsplash themes.
  • Removed support for Usplash themes.
  • Skin previews are displayed.
  • Added autogenerate button for Epidermis Creator so that previews of pigments can be automatically created.
  • Help message is displayed if no skins are installed.
  • License updated to GPLv3.

epidermic is very nice, useful and free (GPLv3 is the best choice you could made!)

but... what about the license of artwoks (themes, wallpapers, etc...) hosted in the epidermid's repositories?

regards

Thank you for the comments, feedback is appreciated.
All the pigments included in the repositories are free as in freedom. They're licensed under free Creative Commons licenses (CC-BY or CC-BY-SA) or under the GPL.
Click on Find More, and scroll to the right to see which licenses the pigments have been released under.

I'm not sure which xsplash themes you packaged with epidermis (if any) due to an error I got when launching the program, but for those interested here are 2 themes I rehashed from existing ubuntu/xubuntu art:
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=114877
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=114875

I can package those into pigments easily. Just make sure the license is free (such as CC-BY-SA) and I'll upload them to the repository. We always need new pigments!

This sounds exactly like this bug, which has been fixed in Epidermis 0.4.1.
